Dear Guests,
This past year brought some unexpected turbulence to our business model. For these reasons, we have been forced to make some course corrections. As is the case everywhere, utility and fuel costs have risen drastically. This has resulted in changes we did not expect to have to make. We apologize in advance to those of you who were told that things would remain essentially the same from the 2026 season to the 2027 season. Sadly, we have had to shift to ‘survival mode’ for at least the 2027 season (and possibly 2028 as well). We will continue to monitor the situation with an eye to rolling things back, if feasible. Regretfully, these are the changes we will be making:
We will be changing the non-refundable booking deposit from 10% to 20%.
The room rates have increased approximately 13%. (Our heating fuel has doubled since the first of the year. Also, electricity in our community is produced from diesel generators at the local power plant.)
While we have never had a lengthy ‘advance payment/cancellation policy’ in the past, we have been forced to reconsider that position. Moving forward, having only seven rooms in the peak season makes it critical that we reduce last-minute cancellations. Payment in full will be collected 7 days prior (instead of 3 days prior) to arrival and will still be non-refundable after collection.
We will not be charging any penalty for changing reservations or canceling earlier than one week prior to arrival.
Please accept our sincerest apologies! We thank you for your past business and hope we can continue to do business with you in the future. We understand you have always had a choice and appreciated it when you chose us to provide your lodging needs!
